Stream Adds Cross-Claim Fraud Detection to Its AI Injury Claims Platform, Demonstrating Live at Guidewire Connections 2026

San Francisco, CA, October 22nd, 2026 — Stream, the AI platform for claims defense and winner of Guidewire Insurpitch Las Vegas 2026, today launched cross-claim fraud detection, an AI-native portfolio-level fraud solution. Stream will demonstrate it at Guidewire Connections 2026, October 26 to 29 at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas, with a live demo on Tuesday, October 27, at 12:25 p.m. at the Spotlight Theater, and at their booth (CM-V2).

Fraud in workers' compensation and bodily injury claims rarely shows up in a single document. It typically shows up across claims: the same providers, the same referral chains, treatment that escalates faster than the injury supports, and records reused from one file to the next. Most fraud tools assign a claim a risk score. A score tells an adjuster where to look, but it does not tell the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) what was found or why.

Stream builds the case from the evidence the claims team already has: the records, imaging, and bills in the claim file. From the data it extracts, Stream identifies overlapping providers across multiple claims, recurring referral patterns between medical providers, overly aggressive escalation of the treatment path, recycled documents, conflicting evidence, and pre-existing conditions and comorbidities. Every flag is tied to the page it came from, so anyone can audit exactly why it surfaced.

"A risk score says a claim looks unusual. It does not say why, and an SIU cannot take a score to a defense attorney or a regulator," said Eric Yen, former claims adjuster and Co-Founder and CEO of Stream. "The evidence is already in the file. The same clinic appears on unrelated claims, the same report gets reused, the treatment plan escalates before the imaging supports it. Adjusters need to see that, with the page that proves it."

Fraud detection runs on Stream’s existing platform which already powers workers' compensation and bodily injury claims, including demand package review, reserve estimates, causation analysis, medical-examiner briefs, and bill audits. All are built on a single engine that structures medical records and claim documentation. Across deployed carriers, Stream has saved adjusters 30 hours a month and reduced losses by 7% on litigated claims over $50,000 in exposure.

Stream can be integrated with Guidewire ClaimCenter, putting these workflows in the system adjusters already use, and is building a Guidewire Marketplace integration to further ease integration and help insurers reduce claims leakage. Stream joined the Guidewire Insurtech Vanguards program in March 2026 and became a Guidewire Technology partner in July 2026.

Claims leaders attending Connections can see cross-claim fraud detection live at booth CM-V2.
